to our small breeding cattery of Maine Coon cats. I live
with my husband and our cats in a small village located
close to
Pencaitland, East Lothian, Scotland, we are about 45 minutes from the centre of
Edinburgh. We have been owned by a Maine Coon since 1999,
started showing neuters in 2000 and progressed to breeding with our
first litter being born in 2004.
I occasionally have kittens and retired adult cats looking for
loving permanent homes. My prefix, 'Spirritz', is registered with both the Governing
Council of the Cat Fancy (G.C.C.F.) and The International Cat
Association (T.I.C.A.). All my kittens are registered with
either the G.C.C.F. or T.I.C.A. or both, and I abide by their code of ethics.
I breed for health, temperament and type. My breeding cats
are screened for HCM by echocardiogram, carried out by Anne French
MVB CertSAM DVC DipECVIM-Ca(Cardiology) PhD MRCVS FHEA at the Royal
(Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Midlothian and by DNA test for the one
known gene at the
Veterinary Cardiac Genetics Lab,
Washington State University, USA. They are also screened for HD by
our own vets at Village Vets, Longniddry.
I am breeder member of The Maine Coon Cat Club and
The Maine Coon Breed Society. I am also a member of The
Edinburgh & East of Scotland Cat Club, The Caledonian Long Hair Club
and The Scotia Cat Fanciers Club.
